UK PM Andy Burnham Pledges Continued Support for Ukraine Despite Russian Threats
UK Prime Minister Andy Burnham has pledged continued support for Ukraine after Russia warned of consequences over British military assistance. During his first official visit to Kyiv, Burnham met President Volodymyr Zelensky and chaired a meeting of the UK-France-led coalition of willing allies. The UK plans to share declassified blueprints for British-made components used in the SCALP cruise missile, which could help Ukraine produce the weapon locally. Burnham also urged allies to provide more air-defence equipment as Russia intensifies attacks on Ukrainian cities. Moscow said it would target any missile-production facilities and accused Britain of escalating the conflict. Burnham responded that the UK was helping Ukraine defend itself against Russia's invasion, saying support would continue until a just and lasting peace is achieved.
