How a Coordinated Army Operation Freed Kidnapped Oyo Students
The Nigerian Army says it secured the release of abducted pupils and teachers after more than a month of joint operations. According to the 2 Division spokesperson, troops worked alongside NCTC, NIA, SSS, NSCDC, Amotekun, police, local vigilantes and hunters. They dismantled the kidnappers’ leadership, logistics network and hideouts in Old Oyo National Park. Multiple arrests in Oyo State and beyond disrupted the gang and forced an unconditional release of all hostages. Security forces recorded casualties during the mission, though details were not disclosed. Rescued pupils and teachers are receiving treatment and will soon reunite with their families. Further operations will continue to track down remaining cells linked to the abduction.
