Edo Police Arrest Seven Suspected Cult Members in Otuo Operation
The Edo State Police Command says it has arrested seven people suspected of cult-related activities during an intelligence-led operation in Otuo, Edo State. Police spokesperson ASP Eno Ikoedem said operatives of the Otuo Division carried out the operation as part of efforts to prevent crime and maintain security in the area. Investigations are ongoing to establish the suspects’ alleged roles and identify any other persons connected to the case. The command also reported the recovery and reunion of a six-month-old baby allegedly taken from Edo to Imo State, with suspects arrested in connection with the case. It added that a week-long joint clearance operation in parts of Edo North recorded no kidnapping incidents during the period. Residents were urged to provide timely information to security agencies, while parents and young people were advised to avoid cultism and other criminal associations.
