UK Peers Urge Government to Block Macklemore’s Wembley Concert Visit
A group of 50 members of the UK House of Lords has asked Home Secretary Shabana Mahmood to deny rapper Macklemore entry ahead of his October 30 concert at OVO Arena Wembley. The peers want his electronic travel authorisation revoked, citing his plan to donate part of the Free Palestine Tour proceeds to the Palestinian Youth Movement. The group has denied allegations linking it to terrorist organisations. Macklemore has said the tour will support Palestinians and has also spoken about conflicts and displacement in Sudan, Congo, Lebanon, Haiti and the United States. The UK government has not announced a decision on the request.
