Kano Woman Arrested After Husband Dies Amid Second-Wife Dispute
Police in Kano State have arrested Bilkisu Sani after the death of her husband, Hafisu Gausu, in the Katsalle area of Rogo Local Government Area. Residents said the incident occurred on the evening of September 18. They alleged that Gausu was struck on the head during a domestic dispute. Police later removed his body and have opened an investigation. The couple had reportedly disagreed over Gausu's plans to marry another woman as a second wife. Community elders were said to have previously tried to settle the matter. The couple had been married for nearly seven years, had two children, and Bilkisu was reportedly pregnant.
