Norway Plans Under-16 Restrictions for TikTok, Snapchat and Roblox

Norway plans to expand its proposed under-16 social media restrictions to include gaming and chat platforms considered harmful to children. The proposed rules would cover services whose design, content or features could affect children’s emotional development, health or safety. TikTok, Snapchat and Roblox are among the platforms expected to be affected. Officials said some platforms present themselves as games while using algorithmic recommendations and advertising that may target children. The bill is expected to be presented before the end of 2026.
