Edo Police Hunt Kidnappers After GUO Bus Ambush on Lagos-Benin Expressway
The Edo State Police Command has launched a rescue operation after gunmen attacked a GUO Transport Company bus on the Lagos-Benin Expressway on April 18. The assailants killed the driver and abducted three passengers. One female passenger was shot but rescued by officers and is receiving treatment in hospital. The police confirmed the vehicle was recovered and the driver’s body deposited at the mortuary. Commissioner of Police Monday Agbonika directed all divisions along the Ore-Benin corridor to join tactical units, local hunters and vigilantes in combing nearby forests for the kidnapped victims and arresting the perpetrators. The command urged residents to remain calm and share credible information with security agencies to support the ongoing search and rescue efforts.
