Israeli Military Says Gaza Strike Killed Man Linked to Shani Louk’s Abduction
The Israeli military says Tamer Muhammad Ibrahim al-Sabbagh was killed in an airstrike in Jabalia, northern Gaza. It alleged that he took part in the October 7, 2023 abduction of German-Israeli hostage Shani Louk. Louk, a 22-year-old tattoo artist, was abducted from the Nova music festival near Re’im. Images and footage of her being taken into Gaza became widely circulated during the conflict. Israeli authorities confirmed her death later in October 2023. Her remains were recovered by Israeli troops in Gaza in May 2024 and returned to Israel for burial. The military said al-Sabbagh was the last member of the group seen taking Louk away, after others were reportedly killed or captured earlier in the war.
