APM Terminals Signs MoU for Exclusive Talks on Badagry Deep Seaport

Nigeria and APM Terminals have signed a memorandum of understanding to begin exclusive negotiations on the proposed Badagry Deep Seaport project. The agreement was reached in Copenhagen during a visit by the Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola. It involves APM Terminals and Badagry Port Development Limited, with the project expected to add deepwater capacity for larger container vessels. If developed, the port could ease pressure on Lagos ports, improve supply-chain resilience and strengthen Nigeria’s ambition to become a regional transshipment hub for West and Central African trade. The talks also covered possible extensions of APM Terminals’ concessions in Apapa and Onne.
