NSCDC Arrests 10 Students Over Banned “Signed Out” Festivities in Adamawa

The Adamawa command of the NSCDC has detained 10 secondary school graduates for taking part in the banned final‐year celebration known as “signed out.” The suspects were arrested by the Safe School Response Squad after intelligence reports linked students from Capital School, GDSS Demsawo, Doubelli and Damilu to disruptive acts. They allegedly painted their bodies, tore uniforms, fought in the streets and threatened public order. Officials noted some participants were not final‐year pupils and one person in uniform was not a student. Governor’s directive against the practice was ignored, and some individuals even tried to dispossess passersby of phones and valuables. The State Commandant has ordered a full investigation and urged schools and stakeholders to boost preventive measures. The NSCDC says it will not tolerate any activity that disrupts academic life or endangers public safety.
