Troops Repel ISWAP Assault in Borno, Military Says Over 25 Fighters Killed
The Nigerian Army says troops repelled a coordinated ISWAP attack on the 101 Special Forces Battalion in Kukawa, Borno State. According to Operation HADIN KAI, the insurgents attacked from four directions but were pushed back by ground troops supported by the Air Component. The military said more than 25 fighters were killed, with 14 bodies recovered. Troops reportedly recovered six AK-47 rifles and other ammunition. The military also confirmed that some soldiers were killed during the operation, while efforts continue to track fleeing insurgents and recover more weapons.
