Fact Check: Viral Video of Tinubu Greeting Officials With His Left Hand Was Flipped
A viral video from President Bola Tinubu’s visit to Kaduna was digitally flipped to make it appear that he greeted military officers and cabinet members with his left hand. The mirrored footage also makes military officers appear to salute with their left hands, which is inconsistent with standard military practice. The reversal is further visible in the lettering on the presidential jet, where “Nigeria” appears backwards. The original footage shows the scene in its correct orientation. Misleadingly edited videos can spread quickly, so viewers should check for visual clues before sharing them.
