Police Arrest Two Over Video Linked to Aguleri–Umuoba Anam Tensions

Anambra Police have arrested two people over a video allegedly misrepresenting Umueri residents returning from their farms as armed men from Aguleri. Police said the video was circulated with claims that the men were waiting to attack people from Umuoba Anam, amid the recently subdued communal tensions involving Aguleri and Umuoba Anam. The suspects have been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department in Awka. The command urged residents to avoid sharing unverified and inflammatory claims, warning that such content could trigger reprisals and disrupt ongoing peace efforts.
