Hunye Welcomes Adeola’s Defamation Suit Threat Over Ogun Origin Claim
Hon. Abayomi Hunye has said he is ready to face Senator Solomon Olamilekan Adeola in court over allegations concerning the senator’s state of origin. The dispute began after Hunye and former PDP chieftain Folake Marcus-Bello publicly questioned Adeola’s Ogun indigeneship and alleged that he has Ekiti roots. Adeola’s camp then issued a 24-hour demand for documentary proof, warning of possible defamation and libel action. Hunye described the legal threat as an attempt to silence opposition voices in Ogun West. He said his legal team is prepared to present evidence if the matter proceeds to court, arguing that a public officer’s origin is relevant to representation and democratic accountability.
