APM Claims Tinubu and APC Have Lost Support Ahead of 2027 Election
The Allied Peoples Movement has argued that President Bola Tinubu and the APC will struggle to win the 2027 presidential election, claiming the ruling party has lost support across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. APM spokesperson Abubakar Yusuf made the remarks while responding to an Economist assessment that highlighted incumbency advantage, a divided opposition, political cynicism and low voter turnout as factors that could favour the President. Yusuf disputed that assessment, saying hardship and dissatisfaction could weaken the APC in its traditional strongholds. His comments represent the opposition party’s position and were not supported with independent polling data.
