Congregation of Yahweh Denies Abuse Claims, Cites Ongoing Lagos Police Investigation
The Congregation of Yahweh in Lagos has denied allegations of sexual misconduct, maltreatment, harassment and abuse made by former members and their mother. The church described the claims as false and malicious. It said a petition on the matter is being investigated by the Gender Unit of the Lagos State Police Command. The congregation urged media organisations and the public not to treat the allegations as established facts before the investigation is concluded. The church also disputed claims involving alleged harassment, education support, child custody and employment. It said it may pursue legal action over publications it considers defamatory, while the former members’ allegations and the church’s responses remain subject to investigation by the appropriate authorities.
