Adebutu Dares Yayi to Go to Court Over Ogun Indigeneship Claims
Ogun PDP governorship candidate Oladipupo Adebutu has challenged APC candidate Senator Solomon Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, to take him to court over claims about Adeola’s ancestry. Speaking at a PDP rally in Odogbolu, Adebutu said he was prepared to present documents in court. He maintained that Adeola’s reported links to Ekiti State should be tested legally, while also restating his own Ogun roots through his parents. Adebutu further alleged that the PDP had faced restrictions on campaign activities, including removed billboards and posters. He also claimed his convoy came under gunfire. The APC disputed the account, alleging that security personnel attached to Adebutu were involved in a shooting incident in Ososa, and asked the police to investigate. Both parties urged supporters to remain calm as political tension rises ahead of the 2027 Ogun governorship election.
