Diddy’s Lawyers Seek to Withdraw From $100m Defamation Case Over Fee Dispute
Sean “Diddy” Combs’ lawyers have asked a court for permission to withdraw from his $100 million defamation lawsuit against Courtney Burgess, Ariel Mitchell and Nexstar Media, the owner of NewsNation. In court filings, the law firm said Combs had not paid a substantial amount of legal fees and had been difficult to reach for several months. The lawyers said the communication breakdown had made their continued representation unreasonable. Combs disputed the claim, saying he chose to change lawyers because he believed he was being overcharged for bills he did not approve. The lawsuit concerns allegations aired by NewsNation which Combs says were false and defamatory.
