Tinubu Drug-Case Debate Has Deepened My Doubts About Nigeria’s Future

I have reduced my participation in Nigerian political discussions because I have become frustrated by what I see as public tolerance for poor leadership and repeated political mistakes. The renewed debate over US court records linked to President Bola Tinubu has reinforced that frustration. In my view, the country’s economic hardship, political divisions and loss of public trust have made Nigeria increasingly difficult to defend. I now share the view that major constitutional restructuring, regional autonomy or a referendum should be considered, because I do not believe the present union is serving ordinary Nigerians well.
