Tinubu Seeks BRICS Partnership on AI, Digital Infrastructure and Technology Transfer
President Bola Tinubu has called for stronger cooperation between Nigeria and BRICS countries on artificial intelligence, digital infrastructure and technology transfer. Speaking at the 18th BRICS Summit in New Delhi through Vice President Kashim Shettima, Tinubu said Nigeria wants partnerships that attract investment, build skills and expand digital infrastructure. He cited the 3MTT programme, Project BRIDGE and the national AI strategy as parts of the country’s technology agenda. He invited BRICS investors to explore opportunities in AI, fintech, telecommunications, cybersecurity, biotechnology, manufacturing and renewable energy. Tinubu said Nigeria’s youthful population and access to Africa’s wider market through AfCFTA can support innovation and productive growth. The President said cooperation should produce measurable outcomes in areas such as agriculture, healthcare, education, food security, energy and transport technology.
