Basiru Denies Sowore’s UNILAG Admission Claim, Says He Scored 310 in UTME
APC National Secretary Ajibola Basiru has denied Omoyele Sowore’s claim that activists helped him secure admission to study Law at the University of Lagos after his expulsion from the University of Ilorin. Basiru said he gained admission on merit after scoring 310 in the UTME. He claimed it was the highest score among applicants to UNILAG’s Faculty of Law in his admission year. He said he had no relationship with Sowore before his admission. Sowore had recalled their involvement in pro-democracy activism and alleged that Basiru received support from fellow activists after leaving UNILORIN. Basiru rejected the account and maintained that Sowore’s claim was false. Both claims remain independently unverified.
