He defended the encounter as legal in the UK at that time but called his actions immature given his fame. Brand acknowledged there was a power imbalance and admitted he was selfish and failed to consider how his behaviour affected the young woman. This revelation comes after a 2023 investigation alleging he groomed a teenager at school. In April 2025, UK prosecutors charged him with multiple sexual offences, including rape and assault. He pleaded not guilty and is now awaiting trial.
