Suspected Vehicle Thief Crashes Into Canal After Destructive Chase in Lagos
A man suspected of stealing a Toyota Tundra during a test drive at a car dealership on Lagos Island reportedly led residents on a dangerous chase. Witnesses said he sped away without waiting for a dealership representative to join him. He was alleged to have damaged vehicles and other property while trying to escape, including reportedly crashing through a gate near VGC. The chase ended when the truck crashed into a canal. Residents pulled the suspect from the water, assaulted him and later handed him over to the police. Claims of fatalities have not been independently confirmed.
