Soludo Convenes Aguleri, Umuoba-Anam Peace Meeting as APGA Chairman Urges Dialogue
Anambra East APGA chairman Joseph Emeka Ekwealor has urged Aguleri and Umuoba-Anam leaders, youths and other stakeholders to support Governor Chukwuma Soludo’s renewed peace efforts. A meeting convened by the governor is scheduled for Wednesday, October 7, at the Light House. It is aimed at finding a lasting resolution to the long-running dispute between the two communities. Ekwealor appealed to both sides to reject violence and pursue negotiation, reconciliation and peaceful coexistence. He said the communities should prioritise protecting lives and preventing a repeat of the violence recorded in the area in 1999.
