Alleged Kano Gang Leader Arrested in Port Harcourt After Months on the Run
Police operatives attached to the Kano State Multi-Agency Task Force on Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking have arrested Ishaq Lawan Ibrahim, also known as Malam Keya, in Port Harcourt. The 27-year-old from Yelwa in Kano’s Dala Local Government Area is alleged to be a drug peddler and gang leader linked to violent clashes that left residents of several Kano communities living in fear. Authorities say he fled the state as security operations intensified. Task Force operatives reportedly tracked him to Rivers State using intelligence and returned him to Kano for further investigation. The agency says he will be prosecuted if the investigation establishes a case against him.
