Andrew Ridgeley is an English musician best known as one half of Wham!, the 1980s pop duo he formed with George Michael. The group sold more than 30 million records worldwide and scored major hits including “Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go”, “Careless Whisper” and “Last Christmas”. Wham! also became the first Western pop group to perform in China in 1985 before splitting in 1986. Born on 26 January 1963 in Windlesham, Surrey, Ridgeley attended Bushey Meads School in Hertfordshire. After Wham! disbanded, he explored motor racing and acting before releasing his solo album, Son of Albert, in 1990. Ridgeley published his memoir, Wham! George & Me, in 2019 and appeared in the 2023 documentary about the group. He has also supported charity cycling projects and remains known as a dedicated road cyclist. His net worth is widely estimated at between $35 million and $40 million, largely linked to his Wham! career and related royalties.
