Pastor Found Dead After Abduction on Jos-Bokkos Road as Colleague Remains Missing
Pastor Hills Emmanuel, a Ghanaian-Nigerian cleric based in Plateau State, was found dead after he and another pastor were abducted while travelling from Jos to Bokkos on Friday, August 28. Emmanuel and Pastor Gabriel Joseph Dipak of the Christ Apostolic Church were reportedly taken from a commercial minibus after armed men stopped it along the Barkin Ladi-Bokkos road. Other passengers were allegedly robbed and released. Dipak remained missing as of Saturday afternoon, though his family had reportedly been contacted by the abductors. Witnesses cited in the report alleged that the attackers set up the roadblock near military checkpoints. Police reportedly recovered stolen phones and cash at the scene. Separate attacks were also reported in Riyom, Barkin Ladi and Mangu LGAs on Friday night, leaving three people dead and at least one person injured.
