Over 23 Terrorists Reportedly Killed as Boko Haram, ISWAP Clash in Sambisa Forest
More than 23 fighters have reportedly been killed in renewed clashes between Boko Haram and the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) in the Sambisa Forest area of Borno State. The confrontation reportedly took place around Chingolo in Bama Local Government Area after ISWAP fighters moved into the area and Boko Haram launched an attack. The rival groups were said to have exchanged sustained gunfire as they fought for control of territory, routes and resources. The casualty figure has not been independently verified. Security forces are reportedly monitoring the situation, while nearby communities have been urged to remain vigilant and report suspicious movements.
