Boko Haram Threat: What the South Doesn’t See
I feel Nigerians are too relaxed. But I believe something deadly is brewing at the top. Northern leaders seem comfortable with their region’s insecurity. It’s as if they support it. So I’ll focus on the south. Last week in Borno state, Boko Haram fighters overran army bases. They killed soldiers and seized ammunition. In Ngoshe Gwoza, they cleared the village with knives and daggers. Then they claimed control of the town. It has been a week. The presidency and military high command say nothing. They seem more focused on chasing youths in the southeast.
