Military Accused of Silencing Boko Haram and ISWAP Attack Reports to Protect Tinubu’s Image

Reports indicate that at least 36 soldiers and mobile police officers were killed when insurgents stormed the Theatre Training Centre in Buniyadi and the 27 Task Force Brigade camp in Buni Gari. Both towns lie in Mai Mala Buni’s home area. Sources claim a top commander received a call from the office of a senior security official, ordering the suppression of reports on attacks by Boko Haram and ISWAP ahead of the 2027 elections. Officials reportedly feared repeated attacks would tarnish President Tinubu’s administration and warned troops against speaking with journalists. As of now, neither the Nigerian military nor the Office of the National Security Adviser has issued a public response to these allegations.
