Ejiofor Urges Ndigbo to Reject Electoral Boycott, Warns of Lasting Consequences

Human rights lawyer Ifeanyi Ejiofor has urged Ndigbo to reject any call for an electoral boycott in the South-East. He argued that withdrawing from elections would weaken the region’s political voice and leave its people to bear the consequences. Ejiofor said grievances should be pursued through constitutional, judicial and democratic channels. According to him, electoral participation should not be portrayed as a betrayal of collective interests. He warned that the South-East has already suffered heavily from insecurity and economic disruption. He called on political leaders and residents to protect peace, strengthen institutions and resist actions that could make communities ungovernable.
