Violence Erupts at Oyo South PDP Stakeholders Meeting as Thugs Allegedly Invade Venue
What was meant to be a crucial Oyo South senatorial stakeholders meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party ended in chaos on Monday when suspected thugs forced their way into the State Secretariat in Agodi, Ibadan. Eyewitnesses say a group led by “Odidi Omo” and aspirant Hon. Habeb Balogun (AIB) stormed the hall chanting their names. They overpowered security, shattered the glass entrance door, and pushed party leaders and aspirants aside to enter. Mrs. Folake Ajibade, a party member from Ibadan South West, confirmed the attackers “moved with Odidi Omo and kept forcing people at the entrance until the door broke.” The disruption scattered invited stakeholders and stalled the meeting agenda. Governor Seyi Makinde was absent after security advisers warned of potential violence. A senior official said the governor “would not dignify thuggery with his presence.”
