Tinubu Praises EFCC as Agency Opens New Zonal Directorate in Awka
President Bola Tinubu has praised the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission for its anti-corruption work, citing convictions secured and assets recovered by the agency. Tinubu spoke through House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas at the inauguration of the EFCC’s new zonal directorate in Awka, Anambra State. He said the commission’s work supports his administration’s goals of economic reform, accountability and good governance. EFCC Chairman Ola Olukoyede said the new directorate will combine enforcement with corruption prevention. He said it will work with public institutions, businesses, schools, markets, civil society groups, traditional rulers and religious bodies to build public support against corrupt practices.
