NASENI Highlights Three Years of Building Nigerian Technology and Manufacturing Capacity
NASENI says it has spent the past three years strengthening the link between Nigerian research, manufacturing, skills, finance and markets. The agency says its goal is to move local innovations beyond laboratories and prototypes into commercially viable products, factories and jobs. Its programmes include innovation hubs, research-commercialisation grants, skills centres and platforms that connect inventors with investors and buyers. NASENI also highlighted investments in solar manufacturing, precision engineering, electric vehicles, CNG conversion, medical diagnostics, fertiliser production, irrigation and the restoration of public agricultural machinery. The agency says the next phase will focus on scaling production, improving standards and certification, expanding local content and measuring jobs, revenue, productivity gains and import savings. Several projects are still under development or moving through testing and commercialisation.
