South-East Records Nigeria’s Lowest Conflict-Related Fatalities in Past Month
ACLED data for the past month shows the South-East recorded seven conflict-related fatalities, the lowest figure among Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. The North-West recorded 429 fatalities, followed by the North-Central with 259 and the North-East with 200. The South-West recorded 31 fatalities, while the South-South recorded 18. The figures highlight the uneven impact of violent conflict across the country. Although lower conflict fatalities may support investor confidence, the data measures conflict-related deaths and does not by itself establish which region has the strongest economic growth or investment inflows.
