Osun Poll: Adeleke Alleges APC Brought Port Harcourt Officer to Disrupt Voting in Ede

Osun Poll: Adeleke Alleges APC Brought Port Harcourt Officer to Disrupt Voting in Ede

Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has alleged that the APC brought a police officer from Port Harcourt to disrupt voting in Ede during the governorship election. After voting at Unit 009, Ward 2, in Ede North LGA, Adeleke urged the Inspector-General of Police and other security agencies to monitor the officer, identified as “London”. He alleged that there was a plan to interfere with voting and bypass the established collation process. The Osun Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Gotan, said the Inspector-General has the authority to deploy any serving police officer to the state. He did not directly address the governor’s allegation of planned interference. Adeleke called on security agencies to protect voters and electoral officials, while urging that results move through the required process from polling units to wards, local governments and collation centres.
