An American Airlines flight from Dallas-Fort Worth to Newark was diverted to Baltimore after a passenger allegedly became violent and made racist and anti-gay remarks. Witnesses said the passenger, who appeared intoxicated, shouted at another traveller and later used a racial slur against a flight attendant who tried to calm him. He was also accused of hitting a fellow passenger and pushing a woman who intervened. Other passengers and crew members restrained him with duct tape and zip ties until the aircraft landed.
