Rivers Police Arrest Man Over Alleged Sexual Assault of Girls Aged 11 and 13

Rivers Police Arrest Man Over Alleged Sexual Assault of Girls Aged 11 and 13

The Rivers State Police Command has arrested a 50-year-old man, identified as Godwin, over allegations that he sexually assaulted two girls aged 11 and 13 in Ogale, Eleme Local Government Area. The girls’ parents reportedly lodged a formal complaint after the children disclosed the alleged abuse. The father of the 13-year-old alleged that the suspect would send the girls on errands, invite them into his room when they returned, lock the door and play loud music before assaulting them. He also alleged that the girls were threatened against reporting the incidents. Police spokesperson Blessing Agabe confirmed that the suspect is in custody. She said the police have issued medical forms for the children’s examination and are awaiting the results as investigations continue. The allegations remain under investigation, and the suspect has not been convicted.
