Ogu/Bolo LGA Launches Six-Month Artisan Training for 60 Youths — 1 of 2
1 / 2

The Chairman of Ogu/Bolo Local Government, Chief Barrister Vincent Nemieboka, has approved a six-month artisanship programme for 60 local youths. Trainees will learn electrical wiring, plumbing, welding, masonry and tiling. Each participant will receive a monthly allowance of ₦100,000 and accommodation near the training centres to support their development. The programme aims to equip young people with marketable skills and meet the growing demand for artisans in Nigeria’s labour force. Chief Nemieboka emphasised the importance of human capital development and expects graduates to secure gainful employment upon completion. This initiative is part of his broader mission to empower youth in the community.

Local contractors could mentor small groups during training, ensuring each trainee gets focused guidance on wiring, tiling, or masonry.
