Troops Thwart Terrorist Raid at Tor Donga Yam Market, Seize Weapons

Troops from Operation Whirl Stroke and the Benue State Civil Protection Guard foiled a planned terrorist attack at Tor Donga Yam Market in Benue State. They responded swiftly to a distress call during routine patrols and engaged the assailants in a fierce gun battle. The troops neutralised two suspected terrorists and recovered one AK-47 rifle with extra magazine, a damaged pistol, several rounds of ammunition, ATM cards and other items. Their timely intervention prevented civilian casualties and ensured the market stayed open. The Force Commander praised the troops’ professionalism and commended the Civil Protection Guard for their collaboration. Authorities urged residents to keep sharing credible information, stressing that public support remains vital for lasting peace across the state.
