Plateau Governor Pardons 130 Inmates, Commutes Four Death Sentences
Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has pardoned 130 inmates and commuted the death sentences of four others to life imprisonment as part of Nigeria’s 66th Independence Day activities. The four inmates affected by the commutation are Zuhumnan Musa, Jeremiah Aese, Pam Lang and Thoma Danboyi. The governor exercised the prerogative of mercy after consulting the Plateau State Advisory Council on the Prerogative of Mercy. The 130 pardons are the largest batch granted by Mutfwang since he assumed office. His previous Independence Day pardon in 2023 covered four inmates.
