Four Men Plead Guilty After CS Gas Incident Disrupts Heathrow Terminal 3
Four men have pleaded guilty to affray after a suspected CS gas incident at Heathrow Airport’s Terminal 3, which left more than 20 passengers and workers needing medical attention. Prosecutors said three masked men sprayed the substance during a confrontation near a lift in a multi-storey car park on 7 December. The gas reportedly spread when the lift reached the ground floor, causing coughing, breathing difficulties and panic among people near the terminal. Five people were taken to hospital. The court heard that two women arriving from Johannesburg were later followed to a taxi area, where their suitcases were taken. One woman was allegedly sprayed in the face at close range. The incident caused a lengthy lockdown and disrupted airport transport services. Defence lawyers disputed parts of the prosecution’s account, including who released the gas. Sentencing proceedings are continuing.
