A former PE teacher, Bronwen James, is on trial in the United Kingdom over allegations that she engaged in sexual activity with a 16-year-old pupil while working at Bitterne Park School in Southampton. Prosecutors told Winchester Crown Court that James allegedly exchanged intimate messages with the pupil on Snapchat and saved his contact as “Number 8”. They claim the label referred to him as the eighth person she had slept with. The prosecution alleges that the pair met several times, including at her home, after she drove the pupil from school. James denies four charges of sexual activity with a child, and the trial is continuing. The allegations have not been proven.
