RCCG FCT Youths Reject Alleged Partisan Use of Church Name at Abuja Political Summit
A group known as Concerned RCCG FCT Youths has rejected an upcoming RCCG Youth Political Summit in Abuja, alleging that it is being used to draw the church into partisan politics and promote President Bola Tinubu and the APC. The summit, themed “Youth as Catalysts for National Transformation,” is scheduled for 26 September 2026. Its publicity materials list political figures including Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke, Interior Minister Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, former Benue Governor Samuel Ortom, Obi Ezekwesili and Dino Melaye as guests. The youths said the church’s political and governance directorate should encourage civic participation and Christian values, not endorse any political party. They asked the organisers to remove the RCCG name and identity from the event if it proceeds as a partisan gathering, and called on church leaders to intervene.
