Tinubu Hails Sultan of Sokoto at 70, Praises His Role in National Unity

President Bola Tinubu has congratulated the Sultan of Sokoto, Muhammadu Sa’ad Abubakar III, on his 70th birthday, describing him as a respected voice for peace, unity and national cohesion. Tinubu praised the Sultan’s nearly two decades of leadership and said he has upheld the traditions of the Sokoto Caliphate through scholarship, humility and a commitment to peaceful coexistence. The President also commended the Sultan’s advocacy for education, interfaith dialogue, the girl-child and humanitarian service. He said the Sultan’s counsel has remained important during periods of division, grief and insecurity. Tinubu prayed for the Sultan’s continued good health and said his leadership would remain a source of guidance and blessing to Nigeria.
