Mr Ibu’s Son Claims Widow Sold Father’s House for ₦60M Without Informing Other Children
A bitter family feud has erupted over the estate of late Nollywood star John Okafor (Mr Ibu). His widow, Stella Maris Okafor, recently spoke in a video interview about her struggles to pay rent, buy water, and keep the lights on for her three children. Stella said she has gone without power for two months and can no longer afford her late husband’s children’s school fees. She shared messages from the school to prove they are now barred from attending classes. In response, Somtochukwu, Mr Ibu’s third son, released his own video alleging that Stella inherited several properties but chose to sell his father’s Lagos house for ₦60 million without consulting him or his siblings from earlier relationships. Mr Ibu passed away in March 2024 after a public health battle that included the amputation of his leg.
