Bella Okagbue’s Lawyers Deny Sheggz’s Defamation Claims, Allege Deceit and Loan Fraud
Lawyers representing former BBNaija housemate Bella Okagbue have rejected defamation allegations made by her former partner, Segun “Sheggz” Olusemo. In a letter dated August 24, 2026, they described the claims in a cease-and-desist notice as spurious and baseless. The legal team said Bella’s social-media comments reflected her genuine feelings and were not false statements capable of harming Sheggz’s reputation. They therefore rejected demands for a retraction, apology and further cease-and-desist undertaking. Bella’s lawyers also alleged that Sheggz made false promises of marriage and obtained loans from her under false pretences. They said they have evidence and intend to pursue the allegations before a competent court. The letter further accused a member of Sheggz’s legal team of making unsolicited calls, messages and video calls to Bella at odd hours, and demanded that the conduct stop.
