Nasarawa Lawmaker Questions Hospital Over Alleged Sale of Donated Fans and Mattresses
A Nasarawa APC lawmaker has reacted after allegedly discovering that items he donated to a hospital, including more than 50 ceiling fans, 40 standing fans and 50 orthopaedic mattresses, may have been sold. The incident recalls a school I visited in Asaba, Delta State, after an NDDC renovation. The buildings still looked new, but the iron doors, window frames and ceiling fans were gone. I was told they were stolen during the holiday period. Despite my disagreements with Governor Adeleke, this situation reinforces concerns about the theft and diversion of public and donated facilities. Nigeria needs stronger accountability from both citizens and institutions.
