Driver, Passenger Escape as Car Plunges Into Ditch on Ondo Road

A driver travelling to Abuja and a passenger escaped injury after their Toyota Camry reportedly somersaulted into a ditch in Akungba-Akoko, Ondo State. The crash happened on Sunday along the Ikare route near a hilly section of the university community. The driver said the vehicle lost control and fell into an excavation on the dual-carriageway project. An eyewitness alleged that an 18-seater bus struck the car before it plunged into the ditch, while the bus driver reportedly fled. Residents blamed uncovered excavations and poor safety measures at the construction site, saying previous crashes on the road have claimed lives.
