EFCC Warns Lawyers Against Charging Clients in Foreign Currencies
The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has warned legal practitioners against charging clients in foreign currencies, saying offenders risk prosecution. The warning was issued by the acting zonal director of the EFCC’s Lagos Zonal Directorate 2 during a meeting with the Nigerian Bar Association Lagos Task Force on Illegal Practice of Law. The commission said lawyers must comply with the law and professional standards. It also pledged to work with the NBA to tackle illegal practices within the profession.
